The ERDL (Engineer Research and Development Laboratory) pattern is a camouflage design synonymous with the Vietnam War era. Among these, this particular piece is a rare find, crafted from the non-ripstop poplin fabric characteristic of the early versions. The size is estimated to be MEDIUM-REGULAR.

First and foremost, the “vivid beauty of the print” deserves special mention. The colors are crisp and vivid, with high contrast that sets it apart from later-period ERDL prints. The balance between green and brown is exquisite, exuding a presence unique to vintage pieces. The sharply defined print is truly captivating.

The fabric is a pre-ripstop poplin. Though lightweight, it is supple, and its texture—which molds to the body the more it is worn—is characteristic of this era. Its appeal lies in the “atmosphere of the fabric itself,” something modern military gear simply cannot replicate.The chest features an "MCCOLLOCH" name tape, a U.S. ARMY tape, as well as an AIRBORNE patch and a Ranger tab. It exudes an authentic military vibe, suggesting it was actually worn in service. However, please note that all patches were added later.

Unfortunately, the size tag and contract tag are missing, but based on the details and fabric, this piece can be identified as an early ERDL from around 1966–67.As a used item, there is some white staining near the shoulders, but there is no damage that would prevent wear, and overall, it is in good vintage condition. In fact, this worn look lends it a authenticity unique to an actual, used piece. Even among ERDL items, whose value has been steadily rising in recent years, the combination of no rip, early print, and authentic patches is exceptionally appealing.
