We plan to begin shipping in early to mid-September 2026. Please check your size and take into account the fabric shrinkage rate listed in the description below. Boonie hats, in particular, shrink after washing. They will return to their original size as you wear them, but if you prefer a looser fit, we recommend choosing one size larger. For customers with larger head sizes, gently stretching the hat while it is still wet after washing and drying it in the shade can help minimize shrinkage.

This is a precise reproduction of the gold tiger stripe design, believed to have been manufactured around 1968–1969. From the fabric used for the reissue to the stitching, every detail has been analyzed based on the original, and it has been recreated in Japan just as it was back then. This is the first precise reproduction in the MILITARIA 1911 series. It is a long-awaited re-release since the 2023 re-release.

This boonie hat reproduces the standard cut manufactured by the CISO (Counterinsurgency Support Office) that existed in Okinawa at the time. It is made in Japan using the same fabric as the jacket and trousers. The brim length has been adjusted for this release; we have prepared it with a standard short brim length of 4 cm.

As was the case with some batches from that era, a shape-retaining wire is inserted into the tip of the brim. This allows you to bend it into your preferred shape before wearing. From the fabric texture to the stitching, this is the ultimate reproduction, faithfully recreating the original as much as possible.

Like the original, our fabric will fade and gradually turn yellow over time. You may not notice it immediately, but with repeated use, washing, and exposure to sunlight, the fabric will age naturally. While the fabric changes with age, this is not a product defect. We inspect all items, but in the unlikely event of a defect, we will verify the issue and offer an exchange for an identical item or a refund.

Please note that the traditional Okinawa MADE 6cm brim model is not available for this release. Only the short brim version is available.

*Our cotton fabric shrinks. It shrinks 1% in width and 6% in length. After washing, the hat may feel tight when worn, but we use cotton fabric that stretches with wear.
