These are NOMEX® flight pants issued to U.S. Army Aviation pilots under a 1971 contract during the final stages of the Vietnam War. They come in the popular size MEDIUM-SHORT. Please note that the paper tag shown in the photo has since fallen off and is not included.

Made from flame-retardant material designed for aircraft crew members, these pants feature high fire resistance to suppress the spread of flames in the event of a fire. They are practical gear that supported soldiers on high-risk missions, such as helicopter crews and fixed-wing aircraft crews.

The greatest appeal of these pants lies in their functional beauty, meticulously designed with the seated position in mind. The large pockets, positioned from the front to the sides, are designed for easy access even inside the cockpit, featuring a unique layout that differs from standard cargo pants.The front features a zipper fly, offering comfortable usability for everyday wear despite being combat gear.

The condition is so excellent that it can safely be described as unused; the fabric retains its firm texture and is in superb condition. This is the popular “MEDIUM-SHORT” size, a “golden size” that fits Japanese people very well.

Please note that the “MEDIUM-SHORT” size tag, which was originally sewn near the crotch, is missing; however, clear traces of where the tag was attached remain, and based on the overall condition, it is highly likely that this item was stored unused. Please purchase only if you understand this point.

Additionally, the “MADE IN USA” stamp on the inside is believed to have been applied after the pants were released for inventory management purposes; it is not the original marking from when they were supplied to the military.

Not only is the craftsmanship of these military pants exceptional, but the flame-resistant NOMEX material is still highly regarded today, making them extremely practical for activities involving fire or heat sources, such as motorcycle riding.
