This is a 4th Model VNMC tiger-stripe shirt manufactured in 1968. It is in nearly unused condition. Among the South Vietnamese Marine Corps tiger-stripe patterns, this is the highly sought-after 4th pattern—the same one collectors refer to as “Seawave.”There are multiple VNMC patterns, and the colors varied by era. Many feature distinctive patterns that differ from those made in Japan or Thailand, and because they were locally made in Vietnam, these Tiger Stripe shirts are popular as a special category. They were sourced in various ways—not only from specific factories but also from local tailors—which is why so many different versions exist.

Although there is some discoloration in places due to sun exposure, the overall condition is excellent. The shirt features the standard ARVN cut, complete with epaulets and sewn-on shoulder and elbow patches. The green hue is strong, creating a beautiful contrast between the body and the sleeves. It bears the ARVN QM stamp and is size A-3.This is a relatively large size compared to the many smaller ones available. While many examples of this thin fabric are torn or have been repaired, this is a clean specimen with no noticeable repairs. It’s in excellent condition and will continue to be a pleasure to wear.
