This item is believed to be a locally made piece crafted by piecing together such rare scrap fabric. While the stitching and finishing details evoke the atmosphere of local production from that era, some areas exhibit slightly uneven stitching; therefore, it is reasonable to conclude that this piece was made from scrap fabric to resemble a locally procured boonie hat from wartime.

This is a used item made from rare VNMC 3rd Pattern fabric. The fabric shows signs of wear, but there is no significant damage.The South Vietnamese Ranger (BDQ) badge may have been added later. Additionally, since the stitching appears slightly irregular in some areas, we believe this piece was recreated using scrap fabric to replicate a locally made boonie hat from the wartime era. Overall, it has an excellent vintage feel and is a highly attractive addition to any Tiger Stripe collection.
