<Product Description
This is the third product of MILITARIA 1911 first own product MILITARIA 1911 Gold Tiger Stripe, released in May of 2022. 1911 helmet bag used by the U.S. military in the 1960s and 1970s was reproduced using Gold Tiger Stripe fabric. It is set that American soldiers brought in surplus fabric at the time of the VN War and ordered it locally made.
Helmet bags from the 1960s and 1970s were famous for the absence of distinctive hooks.
Many of the reproductions that exist today are based on models from the 1980s onward, and helmet bag-type replicas up to the 1970s are rare. As with our other products, we have procured several original helmet bags from that era. We have accurately sampled, measured, and researched the shape of the pockets, parts used, and so on. We have made the item as close to the real thing as possible.
Helmet bags are designed to be used by soldiers who wear large helmets, such as fighter pilots and helicopter pilots. One of the appealing features of this bag is that it is thin and thick, yet has the capacity to hold a single helmet. Of course, it is a functional bag that can carry a helmet or hold many items for everyday use. There are two large pockets on the sides and two inner pockets on the inside.
The lining is a 1960s-1970s leaf camouflage poncho liner. We have used the vintage components that were very well received in our second Souvenir Jacket. The large zipper used to open and close the bag is also made in the U.S., and is a government-issued U.S. military zipper. Of course, this is also a vintage part. The tape is made of OD cotton and the zipper is finished in black to match the camouflage pattern.
The product will be shipped with our label sewn on it, which is a reproduction of the white product label that was attached to a 1970 helmet bag. The photo shows a sample of the product, so the label is not attached, but it is a close reproduction of the actual label.
This will be the last of our own products in 2022. We will only be producing a limited number of these,
Please take this opportunity to reserve and purchase.
The vintage poncho liners used for the lining are in various states of wear.
We have included a photo as a sample, but some are close to dead stock and some are faded with a sense of use. All are inspected and used after cleanliness, but please understand that there are individual differences in the product. As for the zipper, since it is a vintage part, it will last longer if you maintain it regularly using wax and the like. Before sewing the zipper, we clean all the parts and apply wax once, so there may be some white wax left on the zipper of your product, but it is not a defect of the product. The zippers we use are vintage U.S. Army zippers. Because it is an old item, there are individual differences such as being caught when opening and closing the zipper depending on the individual. Please understand that this is not a product defect, and we ask that you purchase with this in mind.
Our Tiger fabric will gradually change over time due to use, washing, and sunlight.
Depending on how it is used, it will gradually turn yellow and fade in the same way as why it is called "Gold Tiger".
This is not a defect of the product. This is not a defect of the product.
Size: 51 cm (width) X 49 cm (length) (no waiting width)
The handle rises to a maximum of 10 cm.
Ironing cannot be used because of the nylon fabric used for the lining. The lining may melt.
Our fabric is very soft, so it is more likely to fall over than the actual helmet bag.
