This is a released item from our archives. This is a boonie hat with Okinawan Tiger pattern, tailor-made in Kinmu-cho, Okinawa. It has the owner's name on the inside of the hat with a tailor's label, which was used on suits and other items at that time. We have confirmed the Taylor label on site when we visited Okinawa. It is made of the Okinawa Tiger Pattern fabric from the mid-19th century, and has faded. It is the same pattern also known as John Wayne, JWD, etc. by collectors. There is no lining, only a Taylor label. There is a snap button near the air vent. By fastening it, it can be worn like a cowboy hat. Originally, this boonie belonged to the same person as the Zig Zag pattern bag we are selling at the same time, and there was a note that it was ordered at Taylor in Kanatake. We brought the items to Okinawa and confirmed that the Zig Zag pattern fabric was distributed in the mid-1960s at a tailor near Kanatake-cho, Okinawa, and was used for USMC souvenirs due to its proximity to Camp Hansen. It seems to have been used for souvenirs of the USMC because of its proximity to Camp Hansen. Also, at the same time, tour jackets and suvannier jackets were also distributed by the USMC, so it seems that this pattern fabric was also distributed at Taylor, either at the base or at Taylor. Therefore, it is assumed that many of some Okinawan-made Tiger Stripe Okinawan items were manufactured in Kanatake. This boonie is part of those items and is a great privately sourced item. The air vents and snap buttons are rusted. This is a used item and cannot be returned. Please understand.
