This is an actual boonie hat of a soldier in the U.S. Army 9th Infantry Division LRRP. The boonie hat is a locally procured and unlined piece, not a government-issued item. The air vent is rusted. The brim is directly embroidered with LRRP FAIRBANKS, ALASKA and the affiliation and hometown. In that sense, it is a souvenir. The top has the word VIETNAM, a locally made Subdued Division patch, and the word SNIPER. A CIB is sewn on the front. The overall color is faded and used, so we believe the owner brought it back from a local boonie where it was used and embroidered, etc. It is a used item and cannot be returned. Please understand.
