This flight jacket was manufactured in 1940, and was made by cutting a Japanese Army winter flight suit in two and converting it into a jacket type. Some have paint on the back, making it a very rare item. It is also known as the Japanese B-3, a suit with a distinctive rabbit fur inner lining, and there was a lot that included electric heating wires. It was actually worn by the crews of high-altitude bombers of the Japanese Army, and from the condition of the suit, it is probably a reused dead stock item.

As it was originally a flight suit, the zipper is not open. Therefore, the original zipper does not open, so you need to put it on over your head like a pullover.
