This is a late model VNMC pattern tiger stripe jacket worn by South Vietnamese Marine Corps (VNMC / TQLC) soldiers in the early 1970's. This jacket was made from surplus ripstop fabric after the war. This is a safari jacket type of dress tailored for tourists in Saigon and other tourist areas by utilizing surplus ripstop fabric after the war.

The distinctive feature of this jacket is the combination of the light and breathable ripstop cotton fabric and the distinct stripe pattern characteristic of the later VNMC models. 4 flap pockets and belt loops at the waist allow you to adjust the fit. The fabric has the ruggedness of the military version, but is tailored to be more suitable for town use.

The coloring is good with minimal fading, and the overall condition is low in terms of usage. There are traces of a tag that was probably attached to the back neck, which is a real detail that tells of the manufacturing background. The size is relatively large, making it a rare piece that can be worn in a modern way. This piece evokes the aftermath of the end of the Vietnam War and the lineage of the tiger stripe.
