We’ve received a jungle fatigues jacket that stands out even among those emblematic of the Vietnam War era for the distinct, authentic battle-worn marks it bears. This is a 3rd Model jungle fatigues jacket believed to have been worn by Green Berets.
First and foremost, the patch configuration is noteworthy. The right sleeve features an “AIRBORNE” tab and a unit insignia, while both sleeves bear rank insignia (Sergeant). On the chest are a name tape reading “HAYES” and a U.S. ARMY tape. All of these are original from that era, making this an exceptionally compelling piece that strongly evokes the presence of a single soldier.
