This is an actual, valuable jump jacket used by U.S. Army paratroopers in the 1940s. This is not a privately procured item, but a government-issued item that was issued by the military at the time. Airborne troops were made up of volunteers within the Army, and the concept of airborne operations was the latest at the time. Many of the soldiers were trained without knowing what they were actually doing, but after they completed their training, they were allowed to wear this jump jacket with the silver jump wings. The distinctive waist belt, four pockets with exposed buttons, and many other items of equipment were often lost, so this jacket was calculated to allow paratroopers to equip their clothing with as many items as possible. There is also a pocket on the chest for storing a knife in case you need to cut a paracord or other spare items. This jacket also has a pocket for a knife, but unfortunately the zipper is corroded and cannot be closed. It is a wonderful jacket. The Jungle Fatigue 1st Model was developed based on the Jump Jacket as a new combat uniform for U.S. Army soldiers during the Vietnam War that began in the early 1960s. The waist belt also existed in the beginning, but it eventually took the form that you all know.
The one we have just received does not have any rank insignia sewn on it. There is a small hole on the back near the neck. Other than that, all zippers are movable. Unfortunately, there is no waist belt. Other than that, it is in very good condition and can still be enjoyed. This is a jump jacket that was only worn by some of the elite of the U.S. Army, so if you are looking for one, we hope you will take this opportunity to enjoy it. Because it is a used item, it cannot be returned. Please understand.
