Commonly known as “Chocolate Chip Camo,” this is a classic U.S. military desert camouflage pattern. It is a 6-color desert camouflage jacket from the 1990 contract featuring the DEFENSE PERSONNEL SUPPORT CENTER (DPSC) logo. Sizes range from SMALL to REGULAR.
It features a unique six-color composition with a beige base overlaid with large camouflage patterns in brown and light green tones, further accented by small black and white patterns reminiscent of “rock shadows.” Because these black specks resemble chocolate chips, it is affectionately known among collectors as “Chocolate Chip Camo.”
Adopted by the U.S. military as desert camouflage in the 1980s, this pattern made a particularly striking impression during the Gulf War in the early 1990s. As it was eventually phased out in favor of the three-color desert camouflage, it remains an indispensable part of the history of U.S. military desert camouflage.
This item is a 1990 contract product, with the label clearly stating “CONTRACT NO. 8055-90” and “DEFENSE PERSONNEL SUPPORT CENTER.”At the time, the DPSC was the organization responsible for procuring and supplying clothing and equipment for service members within the U.S. Department of Defense’s logistics and supply system; this designation also serves as a testament to a chapter in U.S. military supply history that leads directly to the current Defense Logistics Agency.
It features a distinctly military look with four large flap pockets and a practical 50% cotton/50% nylon fabric. It makes a striking statement even when incorporated into modern fashion—simply throwing it on over jeans or military pants creates a solid look.
The size is SMALL-REGULAR. The label specifies CHEST 33–37 and HEIGHT 67–71. This is an excellent size, highly recommended for anyone who wants to actually enjoy wearing a vintage 6C jacket as a fashion statement.
Although listed as “Used,” this jacket is in good overall condition. While there are some signs of wear and natural aging, the camouflage colors remain vivid, and the fabric is in good shape. This is a piece that will develop its own unique character as you wear it over time.
