During the Cold War era, a field jacket exclusively for East Germany's pride and joy of the elite military department - the paratroopers (Fallschirmjäger) - appeared on the market! This jacket is a collector's item featuring the very rare early Raindrop camo (Strichtarn), and is estimated to be from a lot in the 1980s.
The most distinctive feature of this item is the "Raindrop Camouflage," a unique East German vertically striped camouflage. As the name suggests, the entire body is decorated with a raindrop-like linear pattern, a unique design that aims to create a visual fragmentation effect in forest and urban environments. This camouflage is combined with ribbed hems, cuffs, and collars to create an airborne design that maximizes mobility and comfort.
The front is smartly finished with a ratio wing button, and the shoulders, sleeves, and waist are reinforced with multiple pockets and reinforcements, making it truly "field-ready. The inside of the jacket is clearly stamped with the "NVA 1958" stencil, confirming that this is a rare, early production original.
