This is an actual Jungle Fatigue 1st model (circa 1962-1964 ) introduced in the early stages of the Vietnam War. 1st model is made of cotton poplin and features shoulder patches (epaulettes) and a waist adjuster. Unlike later models, this is a rare and rare model with details unique to early models in tailoring and silhouette.
The MACV was the U.S. Army ' s Vietnam War headquarters from 1962 to 1973, and was the central organization in charge of all military operations in Vietnam, including special forces and advisory corps. Therefore, this jacket is more than just a field uniform; it has historical value as a symbol of the war command system of the time.
The "U.S. ARMY" tape on the chest is a subdued woven tape, a very rare branch tape. Compared to the usual black lettering on a white background type, there are overwhelmingly fewer of these tapes remaining, which adds to its collection value.
Also, one of the shoulder rank insignia is missing, and there are traces of other patches that have been removed in the past. It is assumed that the jacket was probably originally decorated with a full patch. These marks are proof that this jacket was actually worn in the battlefield and has passed through the rough and tumble of time. The label is missing.
The 1st model itself is very rare, and the actual jacket was made by a MACV soldier, and also comes with a rare subdued tape. This is a used item and cannot be returned. Please understand.
