This black-colored safari jacket and pants set-up was tailored by CAT-THINH SHIRTS, an actual tailor in Saigon during the Vietnam War. At the time, U.S. military personnel, diplomats, CIA employees, and private contractors had their clothes tailored by local tailors in between missions.

This set is one such example, lightly tailored in a dark charcoal gray fabric with a crisp feel. The shirt jacket is a "safari" style with an open collar, wing buttons, four pockets, and epaulettes, and the pants have a clean silhouette with no tucks. The tag clearly states "CAT-THINH SHIRTS WASH-WEAR 149 TU-DO SAIGON," indicating that the store existed in downtown Saigon at that time.

Also noteworthy is the accompanying card, an invitation in French to be a guest at the Saigon social club "CERCLE SPORTIF SAIGONNAIS" for three days from May 21 to 23, 1969, with the owner's name "Mr. Jeffrey Kane". This person is said to have cooperated with CIA-related missions, and this card, which was left with the clothing, is an extremely valuable document that conveys some of the real human relationships and activities of the time.

The clothing itself is in good condition, and both color and texture are well preserved. This piece of clothing has a historical background that is different from military equipment, but reflects the atmosphere of the battlefield in a very colorful way. The zipper is damaged due to its condition as it was at that time. The slider is detached and can be used by putting it back. One button is missing from the back pocket. This is a very interesting set-up that tells the real story of the Vietnam War.

It is a used item and cannot be returned. Please understand.
