This rain jacket was worn by soldiers belonging to the 2nd Infantry Division and was locally made around the 1960s. The lining is made of camouflage nylon fabric and can be used in different places. The camouflage fabric used is similar to the Korean Army camouflage.
The U.S. Army's 2nd Infantry Division did not participate in the Vietnam War as the main combat unit, but played a role as a support unit. Also, since they were stationed on the Korean Peninsula during the Cold War, this jacket was probably locally made in Korea, not Vietnam, which is why the camouflage lining is assumed to be Korean military frogskin camouflage.
The front zipper is the same zipper used on the M51 and M65 jackets. The left arm is finished with a pocket like a flight jacket, though. The slider of this zipper is damaged. It is not in perfect condition as there are some paint stains and holes in places. The zipper works fine, so it is still in good condition to enjoy. The fabric is hardened in some places. The jacket is made of canvas used for tents, etc., and the overall finish is stiff. It is in a condition that can still be enjoyed by taking care of it. This is a used item and cannot be returned. Please understand.
