This tiger stripe boonie hat is a modified CISO cut boonie hat from the mid to late 1960s. It is made of Okinawa Tiger pattern fabric.
The bushing links have been removed and the lining has been removed. It has a handwritten name that appears to be the owner's. The air vents are corroded and were actually strongly used at the time. the CISO cut's distinctive tiger stripe fabric use is present, indicating that it was worn as a modified version of the boonie it was issued with.
