This is an actual Tiger Stripe Flight Suit, believed to have been ordered by the US Marine Corps in the mid-1960s. The flight suit itself is similar to, but not exactly the same as, the U.S. Air Force K-2B flight suit. The individual has a stamp that appears to be a contract number and a size stamp that reads 40L.
The Tiger Stripe Flight Suit was worn by helicopter pilots, para-rescue and other soldiers, not fighter pilots, etc., to stand out in the event of a crash. Not only tiger stripes but also ERDL camouflage fabrics were used, and some of them were locally made by forcibly joining a jacket and pants together.
These Tiger flight suits were not procured by individual soldiers, but by the U.S. Marine Corps through the CISO, so the zippers used are YKK and probably sewn in mainland Japan. There are other variations of flight suits with labels or with different stamps, but this one is a regular procurement among them.
The overall color has faded and there are signs of wear. The elastic at the waist loop has been stretched and the white elastic is visible. There are some stains, but they are in relatively good condition. There is wear near the buttocks from use, and the color is faded. Otherwise, it is still strong and in good condition to be enjoyed for a long time. This is a used item and cannot be returned. Please understand that this is a used item and cannot be returned.
